Sahrdaya College of Engineering and Technology, Kodakara, Government of Kerala, Calicut University and AICTE, New Delhi through the Regional Office. By the grace of God, AICTE New Delhi, in a letter dated 06/06/2002, approved the establishment of Sahrdaya College in Kodakara to operate four undergraduate technical courses leading to Electronics and Communications Technology, Computer Science and Engineering, Biomedical Technology, and Biotechnology.  (Engineering) with the admission of.60 students to each course in the 2002-2003 AICTE Sanctioned Divisions academic year. On November 21, 2001, His Excellency Mar James Pazhayattil laid the foundation stone for the Central Building of Sahrdaya College. Mayphils Architects of Ernakulam prepared a master plan for the college and a detailed plan for each building.

The Sahrdaya College of Engineering & Technology recognizes that better interaction between engineering institutions and industry is essential. With the advent of globalization and the opening of the Indian economy to the outside world, competition between industries has become fierce. On September 3, 2016, the Institute of Industry Interaction Unit was established at the college The team is made up of departments from each department, led by Leon Ittiachen, a biotechnology professor who also has a good industrial background.  The IIIC team also includes student coordinators representing specific cohorts from each faculty.
