Late Maharaja Jiwaji Rao Scindia established Samrat Ashok Technological Institute, a premier institute of the region on November 1, 1960, with a donation from the Gangajali Trust fund. The Institute started with B.E. in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering & Electrical Engineering. Now the Institute offers 10 full-time Under Graduates leading to a degree in Bachelor of Engineering and 10 full-time Post Graduate Courses ( 06 ME/M.Tech., MCA, MBA, And M.Sc. in Applied Chemistry) in the areas of Engineering, Science, and Management. It is an autonomous institute, Grant in Aid by the Government of Madhya Pradesh and managed by the Maharaja Jiwaji Rao Education Society chaired by Hon'ble Shrimant Jyotiraditya M. Scindia. The college campus is spread over an area of 85 acres of lush green land with natural surroundings.

Infrastructure and Facilities:

Dispensary:

A dispensary providing students and staff with basic medical facilities has been set up on the campus with a qualified compounder. Services of one Male and one Lady Doctor are also available. Institute has a tie-up with a hospital for the students.

Transit Home:

Alumni Transit Home has been constructed in front of the Director’s Bungalow with the partial contribution of the Alumni. It has the facility for a comfortable stay. Alumni & parents of regular students of this institute are permitted to stay here on nominal charges as per norms with the permission of the Director.

Canteen:

A newly constructed canteen exists adjoining to Alumni Transit Home and opposite to VIP guest house.

Hostel:

Institute has Three Boy Hostels, having a total capacity of 325, and two Girls' Hostels of 100 seats Each. The Hostels are well equipped with good furniture and other living facilities like Aqua guard water purifying system and solar water heating system, geyser facility. Each hostel is having good facilities for recreation like an indoor games hall, reading room, and Television room. Each hostel is having its own Power Generation set, in the event of a power failure from the M.P. electricity board so that the students may not be put into difficulty. The inmates of the hostel live in a friendly and healthy atmosphere and abide by the rules to maintain strict discipline. The mess of each hostel is run by students of the hostels under the guidance of respective Wardens.

Placement:

The Training & Placement Office, SATI Vidisha facilitates the process of placement of students passing out from the Institute besides collaborating with leading organizations and institutes in setting up internship and training programs for students. The office liaises with various industrial establishments, corporate houses, etc which conduct campus interviews and select graduate and post-graduate students from all disciplines. The Training & Placement Office provides the infra-structural facilities to conduct group discussions, tests, and interviews besides catering to other logistics. The Office interacts with many industries in the country, out of which nearly 40 companies recruit our students through campus interviews.
