STMEI Diploma Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility Criteria for First-Year Diploma: To qualify for admission to the first year of a diploma course in Engineering/Technology, candidates must meet the following criteria:
1. Candidates must be Indian nationals.
2. They should have passed the SSC (Std. X) examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent.
3. The subjects required to pass in the SSC examination include Maths/Mathematics, General Science, and English, with a minimum aggregate of 35% marks.
Eligibility Criteria for Second-Year Diploma: Direct admission to the Second Year of Post SSC full-time Diploma Courses is available.
1. 20% of the seats, over and above the sanctioned intake, are reserved in all institutes across the state for direct admission to the Second Year of Post SSC full-time Diploma Courses.
2.. The additional seats require candidates to have either H.S.C. Science/H.S.C. (Science with Vocational/Technical) subjects or MCVC, or a 10+2 years I.T.I. with a center of excellence course.
3. The eligibility for specific branches of diploma programs follows the guidelines set by MSBTE.

This examination should include English, Physics, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Additionally, candidates have the option to choose from subjects like Biotechnology, Chemistry, Biology, and Technical Vocational as their optional subjects. To be considered eligible for admission, candidates must obtain a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate (45% for students belonging to the Backward Class) in their chosen optional subject. Furthermore, candidates need to meet the eligibility requirements to appear for the entrance examination conducted for this course. Eligibility Criteria for Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) Lateral Entry: Candidates seeking admission through the lateral entry route into the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) program must fulfill specific eligibility requirements. Firstly, candidates should have completed a diploma program in engineering and technology from an institution approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), a Central or State Government-approved institution, or any equivalent institution. It is mandatory for candidates to have secured at least 45% of the total marks in their diploma program (40% for candidates belonging to Backward Class categories and Persons with Disability who are residents of Maharashtra State).
Alternatively, candidates can qualify for lateral entry if they have passed the HSC examination with mathematics as a subject and subsequently obtained a B.Sc. degree from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) or the Association of Indian Universities. In this case, candidates must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in their B.Sc. degree (40% for candidates from Backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only). Additionally, candidates in this category must successfully pass the first-year engineering program's subjects of engineering mechanics and graphics.
