STMEI Placement Activity
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a nationally recognized examination administered by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology, under the supervision of the National Coordination Board GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. In today's highly competitive academic landscape, characterized by a proliferation of universities and engineering colleges, GATE serves as the primary yardstick for assessing the caliber of engineering students. GATE scores are widely utilized for admissions into prestigious post-graduate programs such as M.E., M.Tech, and direct Ph.D. Additionally, numerous Public Sector Undertakings have historically employed GATE scores as a screening mechanism for recruitment purposes. Notable organizations include Indian Oil Corporation Limited, National Thermal Power Corporation, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, and Power Grid India. Moreover, direct recruitment to esteemed Group A level posts within the Cabinet Secretariat, such as Senior Field Office (SFO Tele), Senior Research Officer (SRO) (Crypto), and SRO(S&T), now relies on GATE scores. Recognizing the significance of GATE in shaping students' academic and professional futures, the Training & Placement Cell at our institution delivers informative presentations to all classes, providing comprehensive insights into GATE preparation and utilization. Furthermore, the Cell is planning to introduce GATE coaching sessions for pre-final and final-year students starting from the current academic year.
