Saraswathi Narayanan College Perungudi, Madurai Tamil Nadu was established in the year 1966 as a Public (Autonomous) Educational Institute to provide higher education to build a career in the field of Management, Humanities, and Science. NSS:

There are three units in our college. The scheme is open to students of I and II-year degree classes. The scheme provides ample opportunities for students to have a deep sense of involvement in nation-building. it inculcates a spirit of national consciousness and willingness to serve the country. The members of the Scheme have to serve for 220 hours. They shall participate in rural reconstruction camps conducted periodically. The students are advised to contact one of the NSS program officers for further details.

National Cadet Corps:

A company of N.C.C functions in our college. Students of undergraduate classes have enrolled in the cadets. N.C.C. has ‘unity and discipline’ as its motto. It provides an opportunity for the students to develop the spirit of sportsmanship, a sense of service, leadership qualities, and an amiable character. N.C.0 attempts to create a force of disciplined and trained manpower that in a national emergency could be of great assistance to the country. Eligible cadets can attend Annual Training Camps, Army Attachment Camps, All India Leadership Camps, Republic Day Parades, etc., They can appear for B and C certificate examinations.
