Saurashtra University is a NAAC Grade A university. It has state-of-the-art facilities and is among the top universities in Gujrat. It is the first university in India to employ an all-time coordinator. The university was born out of the constant demand to establish an independently-run university at Rajkot. The university currently is a part of Amreli, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Surendranagar, and Morbi districts. The University is involved in a number of successful collaborations that not only enhance its position, but also bring the latest technology for the society and the university.

Library

The library is one of the oldest operating equipment at the University. The library utilizes Soul software to operate and barcode tagging. The current collection at the library are as large as it can get. The library houses more than the 216130 books it has and grows by 3000 new books each year. Beyond libraries, there are also also has various journal articles, Bound Periodicals, Thesis desertions, etc. Additionally the library is currently working to digitize the resources to be used by Ph.D. Students. Services like google scholar, Sodh Ganga etc. are available in the library.

Hostel

The hostel at the University is very good. Clean hostels, and students are provided with a clean drinking water supply as well as a cot, table, cupboard and chairs. In addition, the hostels come with a solar hot water tank, security and medical facilities. The hostels are available for single and shared occupancy. The hostel has 144 rooms within the accommodation for single use. There are 52 rooms are shared occupancy. In addition, the hostel blocks differ. The campus also has an on-campus girls hostel that has similar facilities.

Sports

The athletic facility at the university is top of the line. The school has P.E as well as P.T. instructors who are involved in the sports activities that the university. Furthermore, the school has outdoor and indoor sports facilities. The sports complex at the university is home to shooting ranges inside and an indoor swimming pool, an indoor table tennis and four tennis courts. Additionally, the university offers sports facilities for cricket, football and hockey. A running track and an outdoor pool are also available.

Placements

The school has an active placement cell which invites a variety of firms during the season of placement. In addition, the university has held a fair for placement in which students can be offered an employment. The department of placement at the university also provides training to students on placements and the process of interview. They also train the students to ensure they are in good shape and are able to secure their positions. In 2020 , the salaries were reduced due to Covid-19. The school had a good percentage of students enrolled. The top package for MBA was about 3.3 lacs. In B.Sc this was 2.5 lacs. In other programs, the patterns were similar.

Admission

The admission to UG and PG programs at Saurashtra University are granted either on merit or the scores of entrance exams. Admission to the B.Li.Sc. & B.Ed. is granted on the basis of merits achieved in the previous qualifying exam and also through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP). Candidates must pass the entrance exam in order to be eligible for admission. admittance is given to programs for PG students MA, M.Sc., LLM, MCA, MSW, M.Com., MSJW, M.Ed. , M.Li.Sc., M.Pharma. Additionally, the school offers medical courses MD/MS and Pharma.D. with various specializations. admission is granted on basis of NEET scores for PG and ACPC guidelines.
