Sardar Bhagwan Singh Post Graduate Institute of Biomedical Sciences & Research, Balawala, Dehradun (1994-2018) had been a pioneer institution in the field of Biomedical Sciences, not only in Uttarakhand but in the entire Northern Region. Since its inception in 1994, the Institution has constantly worked towards raising academic standards. The Institute was the outcome of the foresightedness and vision of the Founder Director Sardar Gurcharan Singh Ji, whose dream was to make this part of the region self-sufficient in higher education. With outstanding faculty, motivated students and efficient management, and a wide campus covering a total area of more than 1.5 lac sq. ft., SBSPGI had achieved the milestone of two glorious decades.

Infrastructure and Facilities

SBS-IBSR The University is spread over 25 Acres with a total covered area of 1,75,000 sq. ft. allocated for academics and 1,40,000sq. ft. for support services. The state-of-the-art campus accommodates different academic blocks i.e. Baba Kharak Singh Block, Prof. Puran Singh Block, Biotechnology Block, MLT Block, Administrative Block, and Guru Gobind Singh Block. Other Infrastructures are Central Library, Staff Quarters, and Girls' & Boys' Hostels.

SBS-IBSR Living in the hostel is an experience for the student which is cherished throughout one's life. It develops a sense of living and sharing together along with a feeling of belongingness towards the Institution. There is no better place for you to appreciate the joys of nature and to become environmentally conscious than to be at our Campus. The view of the Himalayas, the abundance of trees, and the chatter of a myriad variety of birds enhance the joy of living. The University hostel hosts more than 600 girls and 275 boys in the “Mata Gujri Girls Hostel” and “Banda Bahadur Boys Hostel” respectively. The Hostel buildings, infrastructure, and surroundings are of their own class. The hostels comprise 285 and 140 elegantly well-furnished AC/Non Ac rooms in both the boys' and girls' hostels respectively. Both hostels are equipped with hygienic mess facilities, well-furnished reading rooms (provided with the latest magazines and newspapers), A.C. recreation rooms with home theatre, and indoor sports infrastructure. SBS-IBSR Provision of residential accommodation to the faculty is also available. Fifteen furnished flats have already been allotted to the faculty. The aim is to provide accommodation to each faculty and staff member of the University in the near future. Tastefully furnished guest rooms and suites are available for examiners, parents, and other guests.

SBS-IBSR The University is connected by regular local bus service available from Airport, Railway Station, and Bus Stand beside this the University provides has its own bus fleet to facilitate staff and student commuters.

SBS-IBSR The University provides safety insurance cover of Rs. 1 Lac per student under the "Student Safety Insurance Policy" provided by New India Assurance Co. Ltd., for which students have to pay a very nominal annual premium

SBS-IBSR Looking into the daily needs of the students, the University has arrangements for the procurement of items of daily needs such as stationery, medicines, grocery items, xerox, bakery products, STD/PCO, and a tailor's shop within the campus.

SBS-IBSR Placements are the benchmark of the performance of any institution and it depicts the success and growth of the Institution. The Training & Placement Office plays a pivotal role in counseling and guiding the students for their successful career placement, which is a crucial interface between the completion of the academic program the students and their entry into a suitable profession. In the 24 years of its establishment, many reputed National and Multinational companies visited the Institution. The alumni of the organization occupy very good positions in Industry, R&D, business, and academia in India & Abroad. The Training and Placement Office conducts the following activities to prepare the students competent for effective placement processes. Every Year more than 90% of students get placed through our on-campus and off-campus placements drive.
