Infrastructure and Facilities

Library

An academic ambience prevails at the Central Library, which enables students and faculty members to sharpen their intellect. The fully automated library is housed in a separate building. It has a spacious reading room and an air-conditioned reference section with a seating capacity of about 250 students. CSMU Library system consists of a central library and departmental libraries which collectively support the teaching, research and extension programmes run by the institute. All students, faculty members and employees of the institute are entitled to make use of the library facilities by becoming its members. The library, besides having a huge collection of books on engineering, humanities and management offers library services through its various divisions.

Gymnasium

The gymnasium at CSMU can accommodate up to 150 to 200 students at a time. To give equal space and privacy we have separate centrally air-conditioned gyms for boys and girls. The gym also has all the latest equipment along with – powerlifting, weight training, and special training and strength machines.

The activities at the gym help the students stay fitness conscious keeping them in good shape, and building confidence to higher levels.

Auditorium

The University has a large, spacious multi-storied auditorium to conduct various cultural programs, competitions, auditions and other activities. it comprises of all modern equipment such as Projector, Speaking aids, hi-tech flashing lights and an elevated podium. It facilitates the organising of the above-mentioned activities.

The well-furnished and technically equipped Amphitheatre hall is there for students to make their presentations creative and effective. The seminar hall is often used for organisation group discussions and seminars.

Transport Facilities

The university has its own fleet of Buses, Vans and Cars for the conveyance of staff and students from all areas and colonies of the city. In addition, a city bus facility is available. The university provides transport to students for Bus Stand/ Railway Station during vacations.

Hostel

The Hostel facility at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj University is a purpose-built accommodation to provide students with sophisticated and comfortable housing during their University years. Young adults, many have been staying away from home for the first time in their life which is a real concern of the students and their families. We at CSMU share this concern and designed the hostel, associated facility and regulations accordingly.

The Hostel is situated next to the library building and is easily accessible from the University's main building, yet is deep in the heart of nature, surrounded by the hills of the Western Ghats. The hostel is far from the main road and hence quiet and tranquil. The hostel is designed with comfortable, well-planned, safe, comfortable and contemporary material with convenient-to-use quality fittings. It has a well-equipped Gym, various recreation & sports facilities like basketball, badminton, snooker/pool tables, etc. A multipurpose ground for Cricket, football and track events is also located within the hostel grounds.

The entire facility has dedicated power backups in case of power failure. The water supply is adequate and 24*7. The hostel is well connected with Panvel City both by government and private transport.

Various engagement activities are hosted by the hostel authorities for the resident students throughout the year.

The separate boys and girls hostels.

The hostel offers comfortable guesthouse facilities located within the hostel campus, for parents and visitors. It is advised to plan visits and book accommodation to avoid the non-availability of rooms.

CSMU offers the following categories of scholarships & financial assistance schemes to deserving students with the objective of encouraging meritorious students and promotion of academic excellence.
