The School of Liberal Studies, established in 2009, is committed to taking radical initiatives to integrate traditional areas of learning and make higher education more learner-centric through choice-based learning. The school has a transdisciplinary academic program and a four-year undergraduate structure, which aligns with India's New National Education Policy (NEP).

The aim is to provide the students with a seamless and wholesome acquisition of knowledge and skills. The School of Liberal Studies offers four-year undergraduate programs in B.A. (Hons.), B.B.A. (Hons.), and B.Com. The prestigious School of Liberal Studies (SLS) under Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) in Gandhinagar has the distinction of having a state-of-the-art media lab that caters to multiple creative purposes The lab was inaugurated on January 7, 2019, by senior dignitaries of the university.

It needs to be emphasized here that the modern lab is equipped with all the latest gadgets that are required to deliver practical training to any individual, who aspire to pursue higher education in media studies. Technology, they say, is the differentiator between average education and good education. The lab perfectly vindicates that point and ensures that SLS is ahead of its competition by a distance. It ensures that the students are confluent with the latest technological trends in the industry. While the lab has been designed to primarily cater to the needs of the media students, it also helps in realizing the creative visions of other students from across the university.
