The Management School was first established as the Institute of Petroleum Management, Gandhinagar (IPMG) in 2006 by GERMI (Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute), a trust and a society formed by GSPC (Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation), a Government of Gujarat undertaking. Subsequently in 2007, when GERMI established Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU); IPMG became the constituent of PDEU and changed the name to the School of Petroleum Management (SPM). In the year 2021, the university was renamed Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) and subsequently, the name of the School of Petroleum Management was also changed to "School of Management (SoM)".

SoM has been successfully conducting an MBA programme since its inception year 2006.

School of Petroleum Management is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and it's affiliated with Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU).

The centre has utilized Information Technology extensively to ensure that resources are accessible from anywhere at any time. Services such as OPAC for checking online availability and reserving online, biometric reader, and remote access to e-resources and databases make the LIC user-friendly. Access to the Hostel areas is controlled 24 hours Securities. For Girl's rooms and their privacy are been taken care of specially.

Furnished Rooms

Rooms in the residence halls vary in shape and size. All are well furnished; some furniture is movable and some furniture is built in. All of the rooms come fully furnished with beds, desks, chairs.

Open Lounges

Each residence hall is provided with ample lounges for kicking back, studying for the next exam, or just relaxing with each other. The ground floor of each hostel has a television facility where students can watch it in their leisure time.

Wired Rooms

Each room in all of our halls has two Ethernet ports connected to the campus network and the internet. Students need to bring their computer of course.

Laundry

The laundry service is arranged at Hostel. Students can manage their schedules. They have to pay as per price.

Fitness Facility

University has its Wellness Center Facility available on a charge basis. When living on campus you are more likely to visit these facilities during specified hours.

Roommate Matching

We select a student to share a room with. Later on, a student is been given one chance to select their roommate. A student can choose a roommate according to personal habits and preferences with similar interests. It is up to students to make contact and enter each other as their roommate preference

Placements

We, at the School of Management (SoM), formerly known as the School of Petroleum Management, Pandit Deendayal Energy University, Raisan (Gandhinagar), Gujarat, envisaged the increasing needs for well-trained managers suited for different functional areas of energy & infrastructure, finance, marketing, operations and human resource management. All the batches that we graduated from SoM from 2008 onwards are well placed in the industry.
