Seth Jai Parkash Polytechnic, Damla, Yamuna Nagar was created in honor of the sacred memory of Seth Jai Parkash Ji, the renowned industrialist and philanthropist in Northern India. The school was founded in 1980 and offered an accredited program in Library Science and Radio & TV Technology. The first diploma courses in Chemical Engineering (Pulp & Paper Technology) began in 1983.

Polytechnic status was changed to grant-in-aid w.e.f. 1 April 1990. The Polytechnic has been divided into 6 engineering departments. The courses are all approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, and is affiliated with the Haryana State Board of Technical Education, Panchkula. The Institute is dedicated to fostering an environment for stimulating creativity, innovation, and excellence in students.
