The Institute was established by the Government of Punjab in 1995 with the name Shaheed Bhagat Singh College of Engineering & Technology as a tribute to the great martyr Shaheed Bhagat Singh. In the academic year 2011-12, it was upgraded to the status of a technical campus and rechristened as Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus, Ferozepur.

The buildings are modern and equipped with state-of-the-art technology, Sri Sri University making it easier for students to learn and faculty to teach. The classrooms of Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University (SBSSU), Firozpur lecture halls, and labs are spacious, comfortable, and designed to provide an excellent learning experience. The library is also outstanding, with a vast collection of books, online resources, and knowledgeable librarians.

Computer Lab

The engineering campus has a functional, well-equipped, and air-conditioned computer center. Computer Center with UTM equipment for in which 135 smart terminals are connected via AT&T three-layer structured cabling. A laser printer, a scanner, a seven-color inkjet printer, twenty dot-matrix printers, and several CD Writers provide additional support for the computer center's service. The data center has 155 Mbps connected to the Internet Leased line via BSNL. This Internet tool is distributed on all 800 terminals available in the Technical Facility. The Computer Center also provides Wi-Fi connectivity on campus and in residence halls. Computer Center business hours are from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. during class time, every day of the week. However, it can be modified from time to time depending on the needs and volume of instruction. 

Library

Progress in the information age largely depends on the direct knowledge/information gathered by educators, technologists, engineers, and scientists, and libraries play an important role important in disseminating information. The flood of documents, dwindling resources, and skyrocketing prices have made it impossible to gather all information on a personal level. So at this point, the library has come to the rescue. The Central Library of the Technical Campus has a sufficient number of books to meet the current needs of students and staff on subjects and fields of current courses. About 16,000 textbooks and reference materials were purchased in the fields of science, engineering, management, and humanities. To wake up to the theme of students and staff, it subscribes to 5 local and national newspapers, 33 national and international periodicals, and 45 national journals covering three languages. English, Hindi and Punjabi. He also subscribes to 500 electronic science journals directly. 

Hostel Facilities

The Technical Campus has Two (02) hostels for girls namely Saraswati Bhawan and Mata Gujri Bhawan. These hostels for girls have 29 dormitory rooms each with a capacity of 3 to 4 students and 79 two-seater rooms. The girls hostels are also provided with the same facilities as described above for boys' hostels. In addition to that one badminton court is also provided inside the Saraswati Bhawan. Each Hostel has a TV room with cable connection, a guest room, a room for-in-door games, and a recreation cum reading room. Each hostel has a warden's office and a manager’s office for its smooth functioning and running co-operative mess. Students themselves ensure the quality of the food served, decide the menu, and manage all the matters.

Central Workshop

The Central Workshops of the Technical Campus comprise of Nine (09) shops, listed below. All the shops are well equipped with the latest machines and tools. It is being used for imparting practical training to students on basic manufacturing processes and also used for fabricating minor & major projects for students and other development works as side activities. There is highly experienced staff for the training of the students.

Sports Facilities

Participation in games and sports activities and competitions has tremendous potential for better education of humans, especially children and youth. Participation in physical education & sports ensures better health of the people and has preventive function against various illnesses and diseases of the present-day man who is becoming more and more physically inactive. Sports serve as a very good means of recreation for the modem civilization which is becoming increasingly prone to the psychological stress of modern-day living and work conditions. 

For the proper utilization of leisure time Technical Campus has vast lush green play' fields measuring 245x245 meters. In this area playgrounds such as 400 meters, athletic track, hockey ground, basketball ground volleyball, lawn tennis and badminton. All the playgrounds are watered with a water sprinkling system. The cemented courts are available. Indoor games like carom, table tennis, and chess are available in each hostel. The Technical Campus has started a fitness center in the campus. The Technical Campus also plans to have a swimming pool.
