The Shaheed Mahendra Karma Vishwavidyalaya (SMKV) one of the main institutes of better education in Bastar Regions which predominated through tribal communities is devoted.   The university was established in 2008 and is a state government university. The Shaheed Mahendra Karma Vishwavidyalaya, Bastar, Jagdalpur, and Chhattisgarh have 14 different courses (Graduation, Post-Graduation, PG Diploma, and Certificate) in 10 School of Studies/Departments in the University Teaching Department at Dharampura Campus.  Under the University there are 44 affiliated colleges (37 Govt. and 7 Private) imparting UG and PG Courses with permission from the Department of Higher Education, Govt. by Chhattisgarh and NCTE, BCI, AICTE, etc.

The campus has a separate hostel for boys and girls. The hostel facilities have 24/7 backup power, Wi-Fi, a study room, and many more. Hostels provide good and hygienic food for students. They have also provided indoor or outdoor games badminton, Volleyball, football, and Indoor games like carom board, and table tennis.

Library:

The University's Library is a well-equipped resource for research and study. University's academic curriculum is based on modern technologies. The Institute is equipped with high-speed Internet access, and Wi-fi enabled campus and has a collection of more than 20,000 books and other reference materials and subscriptions to foreign journals and online journals.  The library is provided with WI-FI Internet connectivity extensively used by the library staff and faculty through the NKN project. Library also has DELNET membership we can access In India 6750 and Outside University Central Library service provides two types of its Users Faculty/Staff and Students, but now we extend its facilities to its users like Guest so that they can enrich their knowledge and wisdom.  e in India 22  University has also Urkund Plagiarism Detection Software for better research. The library has a good collection of competitive exam books/magazines which is helping for the students to prepare for the competitive exams.
