Admission 2024-25 - Shivani College Of Engineering & Technology (SCET, Dindigul)

BE Admission

Shivani College of Engineering & Technology offers BE degree courses in five disciplines. For admission to the BE course, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) is conducted by Anna University. Candidates who have passed HSC with 50% marks (45% for OBC and 40% for SC/ST) in PCM subjects are eligible to apply.

The college also offers BE Lateral entry admission, for which the candidate must pass a Diploma in Engineering with a minimum of 50% marks. Admission to BE Lateral is done based on TN LEA followed by counselling conducted by the university.

The admission to BE program will be done through the merit list, prepared based on the qualifying examination.

Key Points:

Only those candidates who have done HSC from Tamil Nadu or are native of TN are eligible to apply for TNEA.

5% relaxation in the qualifying exam is given to backward class candidates and 10% relaxation is given to Most Backward Category (MBC) candidates.

Candidates belonging to the SC/ ST category must only pass the HSC exam.

Wards of central Government employees not domiciled in this state may also apply provided their parents or guardians have been serving continuously in this state.

ME Admission 

Shivani College of Engineering & Technology offers Master of Engineering courses in three disciplines. Applicants for the ME degree course must have passed BE/ B.Tech in the relevant field with at least 50% marks.

Admission to ME is provided based on the performance of the candidates in the GATE entrance exam or TANCET entrance examination which is conducted by Anna University.

Key Points:

Relaxation of 5% marks is given to SC/ ST category candidates in the eligibility criteria.

The counseling (TANCA) for admission to ME will be conducted in offline mode and candidates will have to present at the counseling centers with relevant documents.

For BE (TNEA):

Aspiring candidates for admission to undergraduate engineering degree courses have to follow the following steps for registration.

Fill out the form and pay the application fees online.

Candidates have to enclose the photocopies of the following certificates along with the online application:

SSC and HSC Mark Sheet.

HSC admit card.

Transfer Certificate from the last institute studied.

Permanent Community Certificate Card for ST, SC, SCA, MBC & DNC, BC, and BCM.

Nativity Certificate. (If applicable).

First Graduate Certificate and First Graduate Joint Declaration. (If applicable).

Relevant certificates for the Son / Daughter of an Ex-Serviceman, Son / Daughter of a Freedom Fighter, Differently Abled Person, and Eminent Sports Persons (if applicable).

For ME (TANCET):

Candidates who want to apply for the E program have to appear for TANCET through another official website of the university.

The online Application form for TANCET can be obtained at the official website of the university.

Candidates have to first register themselves and then fill out the forms using a login ID and password obtained during registration.

Submit the form and save it for future reference.

Candidates have to fill out the application form online.

Reservation Criteria

Only native candidates of Tamil Nadu will be considered for communal reservation.

Candidates having Community Certificates issued by the authorities of other states will not be considered for communal reservation.

Candidates who fail to furnish the photocopy of the Permanent Community (Card) Certificate or electronic form / digitally signed e-Certificate at the time of submission of online application will be treated at par with candidates belonging to "Open Competition"
