Shri Siddhivinayak Mahila Mahavidyalaya, located in Karve Nagar, Pune, was founded in 1990 under the umbrella of Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha. It is the first higher education institution of the Samstha, with the goal of promoting education and empowerment of women. Infrastructure and Facilities at Shri Siddhivinayak Mahila Mahavidyalaya

Library:

Academic libraries work together with other members of their institutional communities to participate in, support, and achieve the educational mission of their institutions by teaching the core competencies of information literacy—the abilities involved in identifying an information need, accessing needed information, evaluating, managing, and applying information, and understanding the legal, social, and ethical aspects of information use. The systematic delivery of instructional programs and services should be planned in concert with overall strategic library planning, including the library’s budgeting process. Such planning may also involve strategizing with other campus units to deliver collaboratively designed programming. Research has shown that the academic library is a positive influencing factor on students' academic success.

Canteen:

The College has a canteen named, “Suswaad Canteen” which is run by “Sampada Bakery” of the Samstha. Delicious food and beverages are served at reasonable prices in this canteen. Hygiene is strictly followed and regular checking is done by the Samstha. The kitchen waste is processed in the Bio-gas plant of the Samstha.

Hostel Facilities:

Sir Sasoon David Hostel was established in the year 1944. This hostel is named after Sir Sasoon David, a well-wisher, and donor of MKS.

On 3rd February 2002, a well-known industrialist and philanthropist, Dr. Sudha Murty generously donated Rs. 60 lakhs through Infosys Foundation for the renovation and extension of the existing building. The helping hands of this hostel are Barnard Malka, Mrs.SujataMahadik, Dr. Kshirsagar, Mr. YashawantAdhye, Mr. M.G.Bedmutha; donations given in the memory of Vaman Navare, in the memory of Smt. Rukmini Harshe and in the memory of Usha Joshi and many others have also extended their support. On 3rd February 2002, a well-known and respected personality in the field of industry and philanthropy, Ms. SudhaMurty generously donated Rs. 60 lakhs through Infosys Foundation for David Sir Sassoon Hostel for the renovation and extension of the existing building. The five-storeyed renovated premises of Sir David Sassoon Hostel is a home for students of Nursing, Arts, Commerce, Science, Vocational, D.Ed. B.C.A. and higher secondary streams.

This newly constructed hostel building can accommodate 618 girls with boarding and lodging facilities from which 150 seats are reserved for Shri Siddhivinayak Mahila Mahavidyalaya Students.

Laboratories:

The college has well-equipped and well-maintained laboratories. Each lab has the necessary equipment to conduct corresponding courses in that laboratory. There are three computer labs for computer science, commerce, and junior wing IT students. All these laboratories are well-equipped with network printers, and projectors. An Internet facility is also available for students in these labs. Apart from computer labs we also have well-equipped Microbiology, Chemistry, Botany – Zoology, Physics, and Electronics Laboratories.

Admission at Shri Siddhivinayak Mahila Mahavidyalaya

A student seeking admission to First Year Arts or Commerce must have passed the 12th of Commerce faculty or equivalent examination.

A student seeking admission to First Year Science must have passed the 12th of Science Faculty or equivalent examination.

A student seeking admission to First Year Science, Microbiology must have passed a Higher Secondary School Certificate (10+2) or equivalent examination with English and Biology; and two of the science subjects. OR 3 Years Diploma in Pharmacy Course of Board of Technical Education conducted by Government of Maharashtra or its equivalent. OR Higher Secondary School Certificate (10+2). Examination with English and vocational subject of + 2 level (MCVC) – Medical Lab. Technician.

A student seeking admission to First Year Computer Science must have passed a Higher Secondary School Certificate (10+2) or equivalent examination in English and Mathematics; and two of the science subjects. OR 3 Years Diploma in Board of Technical Education conducted by the Government of Maharashtra or its equivalent.

The eligibility of Pune University will be given to her with the timely submission of the Eligibility forms with a separate fee.

Submission of the final Eligibility form is the responsibility of the student.

Admission is likely to be canceled if she fails to produce the same in time.

Students should check the last date for submission of the eligibility form and abide by it.

The admission will be in provisional form till the final Eligibility sanctioned by the University.
