Shri K.J. Polytechnic is a Government polytechnic under the Directorate of Technical Education, Gujarat. Shri K.J. Polytechnic was established in 1961 with three diploma courses Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical with a total intake of 180. Today it has an intake of 1140 in Nine diploma courses named Civil, Computer Aided Costume Design & Dress Making, Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Renewable Energy.

Libraries play a very healthy role throughout our life. Libraries provide physical or digital access to material and a very healthy environment for learning. The library of Shri K. J. Polytechnic started in the year 1961 right from the inception of the Institute. The library is having a collection of more than 25000 specific course-related resources, subscribing to about 37 print journals that cater to the need of the students and staff members of all the departments.

Computer Lab

We have various ICT Tools like 20 Computers, 2 Projectors, 3 Printers, and Various Software like PSIM, Matlab, Virtual Lab, etc. and This Laboratory is fully equipped with LAN Internet Facility. 

SURVEYING LABORATORY

Surveying is the art of determining the relative positions of different objects on the surface of the earth by measuring the horizontal distances between them and the vertical angle either in elevation or depression. The observations obtained are corrected and plotted on paper to prepare the map in a suitable scale. Thus, in discipline, the measurements are taken in the horizontal plane as well as the vertical plane.

Programming Laboratory

The programming languages used were Turbo C / C++. Computer engineering students acquire hands-on experience in basic algorithms in C.

Environmental Monitoring lab

Students weigh chemicals for preparation of reagents, performing practical Spectrophotometer and titration for COD analysis.

Mechanics of Structures Laboratory

The Mechanics of Structures laboratory is facilitated that is designed to teach students the fundamental principles of structural mechanics. In this laboratory, students will use a variety of equipment and tools to conduct experiments and gain hands-on experience in analyzing the behavior of different structural elements and systems. The Mechanics of Structures laboratory is an essential part of engineering education, as it provides students with hands-on experience in analyzing to determine various properties of materials. By using this equipment and tools, students can better understand the behavior of structural elements under different loads and conditions.

Physics Laboratory

Physics Lab is well equipped with instruments of high precision and quality to meet the needs of all types of measurement needed in different branches of engineering. This laboratory plays a vital role in building a strong foundation to understand their core engineering subjects more comfortably.

Electrical Machine Lab

The laboratory contains  Different Electrical A.C.& D.C. machines like single-phase transformers, single-phase induction motors, various fractional horse-power motors, 3-phase Induction motors, Synchronous Motors and Alternators, D.C.Generator, D.C. Motors, with different ratings. We have also newly developed Electrical panels for conducting various experiments and testing of the above machines.

This laboratory contains various types of Electromechanical, Static, and Numerical/Digital Relays mounted on panels for analyzing the protection of power systems, Current Transformers, Potential Transformers, Network Theoroem’s Kit 3 phase precision power Analyser, Measuring Instruments, Measurement Trainer Kit like LVDT Trainer Kit, Kelvin's Double Bridge, Analog Megger, Lux Meter, etc.

Chemistry Laboratory

The Chemistry Lab is well equipped with different analytical apparatus, chemicals, and glass wares. Laboratory experiments in this laboratory have been set up keeping consistency with the theory so that the students can understand the applications of the laws and principles of chemistry.

Electronics Lab

The Laboratory contains Various Trainer Kits. like the PN junction Diode, Zener Diode, LED, FET, UJT, MOSFET, DIAC, TRAIC, SCR Characteristics Trainer Kit, Digital Trainer Kits, 8085 Microprocessor Trainer kits, 8051 Microcontroller Trainer Kit, Four Quadrant Chopper Trainer, Power Electronics trainer Kit, Cyclo-Converter Kit, 3 phase uncontrolled half wave and full wave rectifier kit, Speed Control Of DC Motor using Chopper, Speed Control Of AC Motor using Inverter, CRO, DSO, etc.\

CAD LAB

The computer laboratory is located at the Department of Civil Engineering, ground Floor (CCG-3). The laboratory facilities are utilized by diploma engineering students for their curriculum laboratory work. Students also utilize it for research and development activities. This lab helps to understand digital drawing and BIM (Building Information Modeling). As CAD (Computer Aided Design) is the primary step for digitalized design & drawing, therefore, this lab gives a digitalized experience to students. In this lab students, apply basics command to develop 2D and 3D drawings of different kinds of buildings, use advanced CAD commands for editing/modification of existing drawings, prepare existing paper drawings in CAD format, and use Revit in BIM. The laboratory has good potential to carry out research and project work.

The workshop of the mechanical engineering department includes laboratories/ shops related to subjects like Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Workshop Practice, Fabrication Technology, Projects, etc.
