Facilities and Infrastructure Mathuradas Mohta Science College

N.S.S.

The N.S.S. remains to be an extension program of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University. It was started in 1989 with its First Programme Officer Mr. Jaiminee Kadoo. After him, Dr. Chetan Masram took over the charge. He served in this unit up to June 2011. From 2011 onwards Dr. J. A. Janbandhu, Associate Professor and Head, of the Department of English took over the charge. For the smooth functioning of the unit Mr. Jaiminee Kadoo, Department of Marathi assisted in almost every activity as Co-Programme officer until his retirement in 2012. Ms.Shamali Khalatkar, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Botany worked as the NSS Programme Officer for 2019-20 and then Dr. Eknath Raut, Associate Professor, Library and Information Centre took the charge in 2020.

Canteen:

The college canteen is situated just outside the main building inside the college campus. Currently, the college has given a contract to run the canteen to M/s. Nidhi Caterers, Nagpur. The canteen is well-equipped to serve the needs of the students, staff and the guests. The college canteen is run on the primary purpose of providing the food which is hygienic, healthy, appetizing, tasty and affordable. The college canteen strictly follows the guidelines laid down vide UGC circular regarding ban on junk food. The canteen is utilized by the students and staff on a regular basis. The canteen provides the space to relax and get refreshed.

Scholarships Mathuradas Mohta Science College

The following scholarships awarded by the State Govt. are made available to the students. The students awarded scholarships under this scheme must attend the college regularly. The scholarship will be withdrawn in case he/she fails to attend 75% of lectures, and practicals and if the progress of the student is not satisfactory. In such cases, the students will have to pay full fees to the college.
