The Sarvajanik College of Performing Arts, known in the society by its abbreviation i.e. SCOPA, was established in June 2010. It was inaugurated on 8th October 2010 by Sarita Joshi, an eminent actor of Gujarati and Marathi Theatre, in the presence of the then University vice-chancellor Dr.B.A. Prajapati. The first batch of 27 students was admitted in June 2010. Currently, in the academic year 2017-18, the total number of registered students in degree and diploma courses is SCOPA an officially recognized Performing Arts College by the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University. With the inception of Sarvajanik University in the year 2021 SCOPA is now one of the constituent colleges of Sarvajanik University. It is the first and the only college of Performing Arts in the whole of south Gujarat. The college offers degree courses in performing arts viz. Music, Dance, and Drama up to post-graduation.
