Shri Shivaji Arts and Commerce College Amravati run by Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati was started in 1946. This is the first college started by the founder President of the Parent Society Dr. Panjabrao alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh, who was the Ex-Agriculture Cabinet Minister of Independent India. Shri Shivaji College, Amravati, started in 1946 with the faculty of Arts, Commerce. In the year 1956 Post Graduate in Commerce started.

The hostel was inaugurated at the hands of Honorable Adv. Arunbhau Shelke, President Shri Shivaji Education Society in 2007. Hostel facilities are embarked in such a way, that the students can feel homely and pursue their studies in a peaceful atmosphere. Our institution has provided separate hostel facilities for girls, situated on the campus at the heart of the city. It is very well constructed and available with reasonable charges and has all the necessary facilities for boarding and other recreational activities, to support goodwill, and sociability and to play an essential role in promoting community living among them.
