The Best Law College in Gandhinagar, Siddharth Law College, Gandhinagar is established by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Education Society, in the capital city of Gujarat state in 1990, during the time of birth centenary year which was celebrated as "SOCIAL JUSTICE YEAR" (1990-1992) by the Government of India, for bringing socio-legal awareness, particularly in the capital city of Gujarat and society in general.

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Education Society felt the need for starting new Law Colleges in the rural and backward areas of Gujarat in the year 1984 as to bring Equality, Fraternity, and Brotherhood and to provide Justice in society and as a result the society had established Two Law Colleges, in Gandhinagar and Kamrej (Surat).

Since 1990 the college has rendered invaluable service in the field of legal education and Legal Services and effectively completed 24 years of its existence. It is the only three-year Law College in the capital city of Gujarat state.

The institution has a goal of imparting quality-based legal education to the Society at a large including weaker sections of urban & rural areas, Government Employees and also those who are not getting the opportunity to take legal education in the Capital city of Gujarat State.

This premier institute of Law is located in Gandhinagar, capital city of Gujarat-one of India's most economically dynamic state. It is considered an educational and industrial, governmental hub with high scope of employability. State legislature and various government and administrative offices are situated here. It has GIDC, Infocity, Giftcity, which are housing many big IT companies and industries and also various banking and financial institutions. Gandhinagar has a District and Sessions Court ,other Three Taluka courts function at Kalol, Degham and Mansa. Gujarat high court is located just 20km away from Gandhinagar.

Academic Activities

Various Curricular and Extracurricular Activities are conducted in the College. Students actively participate in activities like Debate, Quiz and Moot Court, Essay Writing and Group Discussions. The College organises Expert Lectures on International days like World Aids Day, and International Human Rights Day. On Birth Anniversaries of Luminary like Dr. B. R Ambedkar, Swami Vivekananda and Sardar Vallabhai Patel. various activities as Essay Writing, Drawing and Painting were also conducted. Under Saptadhara Activities various Programmes were organized by the institute under seven bands. Apart from this they also participated in various Inter Collegiate Competitions and brought laurels to the college.

Cultural Activities

The College organizes various Cultural Events.Every year college celebrates Navratri – (a unique festival of Gujarat) and Matki phod on Janmashtami. Students actively participate in these events. The students exhibit their talent in the Annual Function of the College. Gujarat’s Traditional Dances, Folksongs, Drama on Socio Legal issues are some of the unique events performed in these functions. Their talents are appreciated by the eminent guest present in the function.

Extension Activities

For the Purpose of Bringing Legal Awareness in Society and to Find out and Identify the Problems related to Law in the Society, the College organize Legal Awareness Seminar in both Rural and Urban areas. The main Themes of these Awareness Seminars are Gender Sensitization, Environmental Awareness etc.

Facilities and Infrastructure

Sports Facilities:

Students of the College Participate in different Indoor Games like Chess, Table Tennis, and Carom and Outdoor Games like Cricket, Volley ball, etc. The college Conducts Inter Class Sports Competitions and winners of the same represent the College in Gujarat University South Zone Inter Collegiate competitions. They have Won Medals and Trophies.

Admission

The Institution's Admission process is based on the Merit system. A notice/ advertisement regarding admission are published on the notice board of the college and in various local newspapers well in advance. As per the rules and regulations of Bar Council of India, the Eligibility criteria for admission in First LL.B: - (on First Attempt at Graduation Level)

• at least 45 % in graduate-level ( General category students)
• at least 40 % in the graduate level (for S.C. / S.T. students )

Placement Cell at Siddharth Law College, Gandhinagar

The college has a placement cell for helping its students in obtaining employment. The interested students enrol their names. The College helps the students to get placement in law firms or at the office of senior advocates or informs the students about the competitive examinations requiring special knowledge of law, such as Judicial Magistrate (First Class) and Civil Judge Examination, Law Officer or Recruitments under Law enforcement Agencies.etc.
