The Sikkim State University was founded under the Sikkim University Act of 2003 and amended in 2017 to create a higher education institution. t has six schools namely the School of Social Sciences, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Languages and Literature, Human Sciences, Professional Studies, and 32 departments.
