Siliguri Institute of Technology (SIT) is the largest private educational institute under the vision of Techno India Group and the only one of its kind in North Bengal, West Bengal, India. Located approximately 5 km from Siliguri city, the institute has a vast and picturesque campus surrounded by luxurious and lush green tea gardens and the dense forests of Sukna, with the Sub-Himalayan mountain ranges as a backdrop, making it a prime location for learning. The institute runs B.Tech programs (CSE, IT, ECE, EE, CE, CSE in AI and ML) and Masters in Management (MBA) and Computer Applications (MCA) courses.

Facilities and Infrastructure

Residential Accommodations:

Excellent facilities of affiliated hostels in close proximity to the college, especially for male and female students. Most importantly, the hostel is dedicated to 1st-year students only. There are three dormitories for first-year students. Out of three, two hostels for boys and one hostel for girls. The capacity of the hostels is very limited, so students can stay in the hostel on a first-come, first-served basis.

Library:

The Central Library of SIT was founded in 1999. In today's high-tech learning environment, the "Central Library" as a learning resource occupies more and more academic space and time in a student's life. The library is the heart of our university. With the development of information and communication technology, the library is trying its best to adapt to the development of technology. The quality of library services and user interaction is rich, vibrant and stimulating because the library has a whole community of people from different backgrounds. A journey into the future with careful coordination and planning is a hallmark of this library facing the challenges of globalization. Currently, the library has more than seventy-five thousand volumes. The library also has a lot of out-of-print material like CDs and DVDs etc.

Transport Facility:

SIT drives the university bus from the city to the university and back on the routes assigned to the faculties and students. The arrangement will last as long as it is deemed necessary.

Internet Facility:

High-speed Wi-Fi is available across campus for 2K users who have signed up for free high-speed Wi-Fi in six different buildings. All computers are connected to a state-of-the-art network (both wired and Wi-Fi) and supported by multiple high-speed Internet connections.

Medical Facilities:

The campus has a well-equipped and fully air-conditioned first aid center with well-trained medical support staff. Renowned doctors are available on call and 24/7 availability for hostel staff. A security vehicle is also available 24 hours a day.

Banking Facility:

Union Bank of India (Nationalized Bank) is expanding the banking facility of the institute located 500 meters from the campus. The name of the branch is Siliguri Institute of Technology Branch. The Banker Institute ATM is located right next to the entrance and another location is in the office.

Cafe/Mess Facility:

The institute campus has 3 different well-equipped spacious cafeterias/canteens offering hygienic breakfast, lunch, tea, and snacks to students, faculty, and visitors at discounted rates.

Admission

Candidate must have passed the qualifying examination ie. Physics and Mathematics '10 2' examination with any Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Computer Science / Engineering as compulsory subjects and single passes (both theory and practical) in all the above-mentioned three regular classes.
