Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology is an Indian educational institution located in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The Institute (Sir MVIT) is a prestigious institute in the state of Karnataka established in 1986 by the Sri Krishnadevaraya Educational Trust. The institute offers nine BEs. Bachelor's programs in Construction, Mechanics, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electronics and Communications, Computer Science and Engineering, Engineering and Industrial Management, Telecommunications, Computer Science and Biotechnology, and four Master's programs in Computer Applications, Business Administration, Integrated Computer Manufacturing, and Electronics.  

Sir MVIT is located on a sprawling 133-acre campus on Bellary Road, close to Yelahanka Air Base and Bengaluru International Airport (21 km from Bangalore Municipal Railway Station).  The institute has 2,800 students and more than 260 experienced professors, fully equipped laboratories (including design laboratories), and seminar rooms (each faculty is sufficiently equipped with multimedia equipment).

There are four houses for men and two houses for women. Another block of the Ladies' Hostel is under construction. These shelters can accommodate approximately 640 boys and 300 girls. The daily affairs of the hostels are taken care of by the manager and the residents.

Our institution has a fleet of college buses that allow students to get around easily from different parts of the city, with season tickets issued to interested students and faculty.

Library: 

The library and information center are housed in a separate large block of 1,700 square meters. The library contains about 64,897 books and 1,237 bound journal volumes. The center subscribes to electronic journals through the VTU consortium. 

Admission Procedures: 

The Government of Karnataka holds a joint entrance test every April. Students residing in Karnataka can apply for this test and the allocation of places is done online. 45% of all vacancies are to be filled by the CET. In addition, 5% of the places in the Extraordinary Quota (SNQ) are also made available to deserving and economically weaker students with the possibility of fee exemption.
