About SKP Government Degree College, Guntakal

Since its inception, it has been striving hard to impart quality and job-oriented education to the students of the socially and economically backward areas of Rayalaseema.  The college offers 14 programmes including conventional and restructured courses at the UG level and 03 programmes at the PG level. Around1000 students are pursuing higher education in this institution in this academic year 2021-22. Out of which 80% long to SC, ST and BC communities.

Residential Accommodation

The hostel is on campus. There are 32 living rooms which can accommodate 5 students in each room, provided with a writing table, chair and a cupboard. There are sufficient toilets, bathrooms and sinks with running water. There are two dining halls and a modern kitchen. There is a beautiful chapel also on campus to meet the spiritual needs of the inmates

The Library

SKP Government Degree College, Guntakal has its excellently equipped library housed in a second-storeyed building. It is well-ventilated and furnished with a pleasant academic environment. The library has a collection of over 10,000 books, over 100 journals, over 500 memoirs, and 4,000 back issues of magazines and CDs and DVDs. 

Computer Lab

The requirement of the day is computer Education. Our computer lab has 49 systems and provides knowledge and experience to our students all the time. The lab is open even after college hours providing opportunities for interested learners to practice and become masters in computer operations. Students utilise the Internet facility to download and prepare for their teaching practicals and use the Net for Powerpoint preparation.

Canteen

This place is very comfortable for all the students to relax for a while. Here are available not only tasty snacks but also stationery and other personal things.

Games

There is a provision for a gym and some indoor games items are available for the students. There is a period allotted to them, a group wise and they utilize this gym as most of the students these days try to keep their body fit with some light exercises. So this place is very helpful for the students in maintaining a good physique and helps in having a sound mind and healthy body.
