With the aim of providing quality girls’ education, in the year 1951 Smt. N. C. Gandhi and Smt. B. V. Gandhi Mahila Arts and Commerce College was established which gave Saurashtra Region its first such kind of Women’s college. In 1951, the Arts stream started with a B.A. program, and thereafter in 1953 M.A. program has been introduced.
