Smt. Savithri College of Education was established in 2005 and is running under the Sri Sankara Educational & Charitable Trust. It is located on NH 45 at Sannasipatti near Chathirapatti. The college offers a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) program. It is affiliated with Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU) and approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The college has separate accommodation for girls and boys with all modern facilities. The college organizes many sports competitions in football, shuttle cock, tennis, and Kho-Kho to increase the internal potential of the students. It provides the perfect environment to study. The mission of the college is to establish an advanced knowledge center to mold quality teachers.

SSCE Provision in the institute

The college is housed in a beautiful newly constructed building. Adjacent to the building is a spacious playground. In just 100 mts the Boys’ Hostel is located. Girls’ hostel Located in the city. Both in the college and hostels, twenty-four hours Cauvery water supply is ensured. Drinking water fully protected and cooled is available at all important points in the College as well as in the Hostels. Round-the-clock security inside the campus at all crucial points provides safety and security to students. The college buses plying between college and Trichy on one side, and between College and Manaparai in another direction help the days scholars to have easy and comfortable transportation to college.

SSCE Laboratories

Following the norms of the NCTE, the college is well equipped with all essential laboratories, such as Biological Science Laboratory, Physical Science Laboratory, Psychology Laboratory, Computer Laboratory, Lab for Educational Technology, and Language Laboratory. In order to serve the student teachers in the college of education and students of Engineering courses the language laboratory with all facilities is functioning in the Engineering college main building. Moreover, each department in the college is well-equipped with the necessary teaching and learning materials. To provide opportunities for developing a wholesome personality the student's teachers are trained in different arts, and music and also partake in varied work experiences. The student teachers are encouraged to play volleyball, football, cricket, etc. during their Physical Education periods. They also get guidance to improve their performance in field and track events. In times of inclement weather, the student teachers are engaged in different indoor games in the evening or during free hours.

SSCE Library

Our institute possesses a vast and varied library containing more than two thousand books on various disciplines. All newspapers and weekly, fortnightly and magazines are available for the trainees. It is well-stuffed with innumerable reference books, encyclopedias,s, and government publications.

All musical instruments are available for practice. The knowledge of music shall enable the trainees to make the teaching-learning process a successful one.

SSCE Psychometry Lab

The psychometry laboratory of our institute will enable the trainees to scale the IQ and capabilities of the pupils with the help of the required equipment in our lab. It helps our trainees to improve their learning skills.

Our college has a very large playground, providing sufficient space for football, shuttle cock, tennis, Kho-Kho, and other games. Indoor games such as chess and carom board are also available.

Smt. Savithri College of Education Admission

The Government of Tamil Nadu conducts a common entrance test for admission to B.Ed., degree courses usually in the month of May. Aspiring students buy the application forms from different colleges where they seek admission and send the filled-in application forms with a copy of the entrance mark list to the respective colleges. The colleges make admission on the basis of the norms stipulated by the Government of Tamil Nadu from time to time. At present in Government Aided and Self-financing Colleges, for admission under Management Quota, Candidates without a Common entrance test are also eligible.
