Since 1979, SNDT Women’s University shifted to a dual mode of education face as well as distance mode. The CDE was established mainly to empower women through higher education. The Centre for Distance Education (CDE) is offering several certificate /diploma /degree /post-graduate courses in various disciplines to thousands of girls/housewives/working women who could not complete their education (not even SSC/HSC) but are strongly motivated to upgrade their educational and /or professional qualifications. In the last four decades, more than 3 lakh women have benefitted from this facility and improved their careers.
