With a view of imparting quality education to the aspiring youth of Coimbatore, Sree Narayana Guru Educational Trust members came forward with a plan to start a college for Applied Sciences and Management Studies. Sree Narayana Guru College (SNGC) came into existence in 1994, Affiliated to Bharathiar University, Re-Accredited by NAAC and Approved by Govt. of Tamil Nadu.

Library:

The library built-up area is 6250 Sq.ft with a seating capacity of 120 readers. It is well stocked and presently has a collection of over 25000 volumes on different subjects. Latest publications in the fields of Life Sciences, Computer Science, Social Sciences, Business, and Management, are continuously added to the collection to equip students with a wide range of academic materials. The library also subscribes to about 65 journals of national and international repute. All prominent national dailies are also subscribed in the library. The college library is fully automated and a full-fledged online service is provided to its users. The library enables the Wi-Fi facility.

Sports Facilities:

The philosophy of Sports is to promote health, physical well-being, and the development of physical skills. SNGC has a wide range of activities to provide an avenue for camaraderie in the college. The activities are designed to serve individual interests in different competitive sports and recreational activities. The students represent the college in several tournaments like football, cricket, kho-kho, kabaddi, chess, etc as well as intramural competitions.

Conference Hall:

SNGC is having a Conference Hall named “Vivekananda Hall” with outstanding acoustics, clear lighting & spacious seating arrangements. The Conference Hall has been designed to serve the needs of the campus, especially the College’s Council members, by providing a venue for education, conferences, Seminars, meetings, career development, and College interaction. The fully air-conditioned conference hall has a capacity of about 200 people and in its quiet and peaceful ambiance is the ideal place for members to talk with other members and share everything from teaching methods to current hot topics in the industry to requirements and expectations of the corporate world from our University and what not. The conference hall helps in providing a suitable place for conferencing, seminars, meetings, lectures, and audio / visual ­ presentations.

Transport Facilities:

The College is easily accessible from Coimbatore City by the state-operated transport service. College bus facility is available from Coimbatore, Palakkad, Chittor, Pudunagaram, Kollengode, and Alathur. Buses also ply from Saibaba Colony, Gandhipuram, Town-Hall, Ukkadam, and Kuniyamuthur to the Institution.

Canteen:

A Canteen enables students of all courses to interact with each other and enjoy good food. A well-designed and hygienic canteen on campus supplies quality snacks and eatables and offers students enough place to rejuvenate and relax. Lunch is provided for students and staff at a subsidized price.

The hostel premises offer a hygienic atmosphere in an evergreen background. Men and women are provided with separate hostel facilities. Our hostel is integrated with a spacious dining hall with pure South Indian vegetarian food in the hostel that serves wholesome and nutritious food with the help of a steam cooking facility. The hostel is housed with the latest telecommunication facilities. The campus is a self-sufficient enclave with STD- ISD pay phones. The students are provided with spacious rooms designed with calculated, special intervals to ensure free air and sunlight. Uninterrupted water with R.O. Purification and power supply round the clock is also guaranteed. The hostel buildings are built in a contemporary style facilitating maximum utility as well as safety. Healthcare facilities are available round-the-clock at the hostel complex. The hostel is provided with efficient UPS services. Alternative power sources including generators are in service. Other conventional sources of energy like solar energy are also used. Our high-tech institution provides easy access to the internet to every student for collecting more information. Visitors other than parents and guardians are not allowed to meet the students. Students seeking admission to the hostel should apply to the principal/warden.

Classrooms:

SNGC has classrooms equipped with projectors and smart boards. They are used in an optimal way to maximize the understanding of the subject. The visual representation of the topic aid in better retention and more understanding of the subject as well as maximum involvement of a student inside the classroom.

Sree Narayana Guru College Admission

All candidates seeking admission to undergraduate (UG) courses must have passed the Higher Secondary (+2) examination of Tamil Nadu or equivalent 10+2 or Pre-degree, including C.B.S.E., which has been recognized by the Bharathiar University. For admission to P.G. courses, the candidates must have passed a 3-year degree course after Higher Secondary of 12-year duration. (10+2+3).
