S.N.M. College Maliankara symbolizes the steady advancement of Moothakunnam, which was an underdeveloped village, towards social and cultural regeneration over the years. The mission of SNM College has been, as enunciated by the great social revolutionary of Kerala, Sree Narayana Guru," Emancipation Through Education". We began the task of transforming lives in 1964, with the inauguration of our institution by Sri Sahodaran Ayyappan, an ardent disciple of Sri Narayana Guru. Our college now is in a sprawling green that has offered Degree Courses from 1972 and Postgraduate Courses from 1983. Today there are 13 Degree Courses and 8 Postgraduate Courses with a total student strength of 2068. From 2011 onwards 2 Research Centers functioned for the student.

Students should observe strict silence in the library and reading room. All students of the college shall have books issued to them from the library. The library and reading room will be open on all working days from 9.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. Applications for books should be made in the form available in the library. A Degree student can take three books and a P.G. student can take five books at a time. Books taken should not be retained for more than 14 days from the date of issue.

Auditorium:

We have an auditorium, which was inaugurated at our silver jubilee. All the functions, festivals, art days, and college days are conducted here.

Cafeteria:

We have a spacious Canteen which can occupy 75 students at a time. Home-cooked vegetarian and non-vegetarian food will be provided. We have a steam plant installed for quick and hygienic food.

Girls Hostel:

The College has two ladies' hostels inside the campus, which can occupy 120 students at a time, and have a mess that provides vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. Two wardens and one full-time security are also there for the smooth functioning of the hostel.

Alumni Associations:

The College Association helps the former students of the College to keep in touch with their alma mater. This allows the spiritual and financial participation of old students in the development of the College. It extends financial assistance to poor and needy students. The Former Student's Day is celebrated every year on the second Saturday of December.

Faculty: 

There is a good group of faculties available in the colleges. Appointed by management because it is an aided college. They are helpful and sincere in their jobs. Students have good guidance from these faculties.

Placement: 

The placement of job opportunities is very high. We can work for many companies as accountants, managers, Or in any other field. Our placement department is very strong and very supportive. They provide much support to all the students.
