 Library

The library is the heart of the institution or organization. The library plays a vital role in the development of the students as well as the faculty. It is the place of knowledge, open for Teacher educators and Student-teachers. The library builds knowledge and support teaching and learning and also provides better Service to its user. Sree Siddaganga College of Education established its own library open in the academic year 1972-73 for students as well as for faculty members.

At present, the library is well equipped, furnished, and spacious to accommodate 50 students at a time presently it has 19139 volumes with 1851 titles including Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Gazetteers, and Yearbooks. 874 Journals Back Volumes and 173 CDs, DVDs, and Video Cassettes then subscribe to more than 17 Educational Journals and 12 Magazines, and 06 Kannada and English Daily News Papers.

Computer Lab

In SSCE, a Computer Lab is set up with the aim of offering effective training in improving the computing skills and Internet Surfing Skills of the students. The lab has 20 Multimedia PCs plus one Workstation for the teacher. To facilitate support for students to comply with curriculum activities like assignments Preparations for seminars, browsing information on contemporary issues, and Teaching Tools, the institute has a lab facility enabled with internet and computer systems. The students are given training in communication, confidence-building, career development, CV writing, and self-awareness.

Science Lab

Science Lab is housed in a room, located at the Right Corner, Second floor of our college. The science lab of the institution possesses the chemicals, devices, specimens, apparatus, tools, models, and charts for the students to utilize during their micro-teaching, simulation lessons, and practice teaching. The lab is spacious enough to conduct a rehearsal of experiments. Student-teachers conduct rehearsals in the lab before using them in a real situation. There are dedicated staff to guide the students. Science teachers facilitate them in getting acquainted with the conduct of experiments.

Sports & Athletics

With the belief “A Healthy mind in a healthy body”. Physical education is an integral part of educational programming designed to promote the optimum development of an individual physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and spiritually through total body movement in the performance of properly selected physical activities. The primary goal of physical education has varied, based on the needs of the time and place. Most of the institutions’ goal is to provide students with knowledge, skills, capacities, values, and enthusiasm to maintain a healthy lifestyle into adulthood. The College campus is equipped with several sports facilities to play Cricket, Football, Basketball, and Volleyball, and facilities for Indoor Games are available. A Citizen of India who has passed any Bachelor’s degree examination of Tumkur University or any University in India or abroad recognized as equivalent through 10+2+3/4/5 pattern of education who has obtained 50% of marks in aggregate of all the subjects he/she has studied for the degree is eligible for admission to B.Ed. program. The candidate with 50% aggregate in the Degree or Master’s Degree is eligible for B. Ed. program.

In the case of SC/ST, Category -1 and physically challenged students s 45%  aggregate in the Degree or Master’s Degree is eligible for a B.Ed program. A candidate for the admission to Bachelor of Education (B. Ed.) must fulfill the eligibility criteria as per the directives of Govt. of Karnataka from time to time.
