Sri Basaveshwara Institute of Technology (SBIT), Tumkur was established in 2008 under Sri Basaveshwara Education Society. The college is located in a 50-acre lush green campus, strategically located in Tiptur, with an impressive built-up area of over 3.5 lakh sq ft, extending career-building opportunities for about 1000 students every year in as many as 6 traditional and emerging disciplines in engineering.

The Centre is open 365 days a year. The time is from 8.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. There are over 1000 students utilizing this facility.

Students are also encouraged to undergo training in hospitals to acquaint them with the rational use of drugs, prescription monitoring, pharmacist-physician-patient interaction, and patient counseling. The practical Training of a minimum of 400hrs is compulsory for the students.
