Sri. C. Achutha Menon Government College, Thrissur is a tertiary institution under the Department of College Education, Govt. Kerala. Named after one of Kerala's eminent Prime Ministers, inspired by the values and vision enshrined in the Constitution of India, the institution aims to transform young knowledge seekers into responsible citizens of a secular and democratic country, duly aware of their own are rights and responsibilities.  , as well as to ensure common sense in their intellectual and aesthetic explorations. The College began operations on 14 August 1972 on the site of what is now the Institute for Advanced Studies in Education (IASE), Palace Road, Thrissur, then known as Government Training College, Thrissur.  In 1991, the college moved to what is now the leafy Kuttanellur campus on the outskirts of Thrissur town, fulfilling one of the cherished academic dreams of Thrissur citizens.  The college is affiliated with the University of Calicut and strictly adheres to the rules and regulations of the government and the university in its day-to-day administration, as well as the admissions of students and the appointment of faculty and other staff.  Annual elections for College Student Council offices are held each academic year in accordance with the standards of the Lyngdoh Commission Report and the regulations and bylaws issued by the college The members of the institution have many opportunities to develop an integrated personality.

Library: 

The library must support the scientific activity of the college with a rich collection of information sources. We are stocked with over 35,000 books in the fields of economics, history, computer science, commerce, literature (English, Hindi, and Sanskrit), political science, mathematics, statistics, psychology, and business studies.  We have a good collection of competition books, collections of Buddhism and Gandha literature, etc. arranged in the library.

Sports:

In addition, the courses offered by the college promote and strengthen the self-confidence of every student through a variety of sporting activities. Established in 1972, the Faculty of Physical Education cultivates the spirit of sports and promotes an active and healthy attitude by organizing various competitions from time to time.  Discover and nurture the talent of each student. Hostels: 

There is a women's shelter on campus that provides safe residency for female students from across the state. There are 19 rooms and a dorm with enough lights and fans to ensure a safe stay for 88 students. There is also an office, a bedroom with a bathroom for the resident tutor, a reception area, a large dining room, a hygiene kitchen, and a workspace. There are sufficient refreshments and sanitary facilities in the hostel, including 10 toilets, 10 washrooms, 8 washing areas, etc. There is sufficient play space and various play materials (badminton and cork rackets, skipping rope, etc.) for leisure activities. There is a guard room on the hostel premises with permanent guards. 

Food is prepared and served in-house to ensure a healthy and safe stay. For this purpose, sufficient cooks and scavengers are kept in the shelter. The kitchen is equipped with all modern kitchen appliances such as a fridge, blender, grinder, gas stove, etc. The main fuel for cooking is LPG. The hostel has a well-maintained drinking water fountain with a perimeter wall and network. A solar panel is installed on the roof of the hostel to consume solar energy, which helps to reduce the energy consumption provided by KSEB. Sufficient facilities are available for waste management and its proper use.

Cafeteria: 

The canteen is seen as a place for healthy eating and meaningful togetherness. Located on campus near the college's main entrance, it is housed in a beautifully constructed building that offers ample space for a kitchen, utility room, and dining room.  The canteen has a fully functional and sustainable organic waste management system. The functioning of the canteen is regularly monitored by a canteen committee, which includes representatives of the teachers, students, and non-teaching staff. "Healthy and affordable food for students" is the motto of the canteen. The canteen promotes local dishes and healthy cooking methods using quality ingredients. The college canteen has been serving a "healthy, tasty and nutritious lunch of affordable multi-vegetarian oatmeal" with curry and coconut chutney for 5 rupees a portion since 2012, according to the college The main purpose of a school canteen is to provide daily nutritional needs at an affordable price.  The canteen works in strict compliance with the applicable rules and regulations set by the government, and local authorities, and said.

Placement Cell: 

The College has always been committed to the welfare of its students. Each academic year, students participate in preparatory sessions to channel their skills, abilities, needs, and career goals through internal and external expertise. We intend to inspire students to continue their learning and empower them to make the right decisions when faced with choices. 

The Agency for Guidance and Employment has experienced a very positive influx of representatives from various fields in recent years. Many companies and institutes have visited and contacted our students.
