Sri Durgadevi Polytechnic College (SDPC) started in the year 1998-99, was inaugurated on 2nd November 1998. The Polytechnic College is situated at R. S. M. Nagar, Kavaraipettai, adjacent to R. M. K. Engineering College. Sri Durgadevi Polytechnic College is approved by AICTE and affiliated with the Directorate of Technical Education.

This college is a member of Inter Polytechnic Athletic Association. It provides special coaching to identified students to train them to participate in zonal and state-level competitions.

The college has a well-organized Computer Lab having more than 90 systems. The students are allowed to work in the Lab between 4 pm to 5.30 pm. They can also work in their normal laboratory hours.

The institution consists of a total of 31 Faculty Members. Out of which there are 3 HODs (Head of the department), 12 Sr. Lectures, and the others are appointed as Lecturers. Among all the Faculty members, there are a total of 3 Female Teachers while the others are Male. All the faculty members are experts in their own fields and provide quality education to the students. They provide the students with both practical and theoretical knowledge.

SDPC Thiruvallur Admission

Admissions to the institution are done purely on the Marks obtained by the candidate in their previous classes. Candidates should have passed the 10th standard with a minimum of 35% Marks from any recognized board for getting admitted into the 1st year of the diploma. Candidates should have passed 12th standard with Mathematics and Science / Mathematics and vocational under Tamilnadu Higher secondary board or 10th+2years ITI with appropriate specialization for getting admitted into the 2nd year of the diploma.
