The Sri Ganesh College of Education, run by the Sri Ganesh Charitable Trust was established in the urban area of Ammapet of Salem District, Tamilnadu in the year 2006. The B.Ed course was recognized by the Southern Regional Committee, National Council for Teacher Education, Bangalore vide Order 9241 dated 15.11.2006 for an intake of 100 students. Further, the SRC, NCTE has granted recognition for Additional Intake of 100 students vides order No.1882 dated.28.05.2008. Now our institution is having a total intake of 200 students in the B.Ed program. The college is situated away from the city pollution with lush green surroundings. The teacher training program is designed to develop the overall personality of the students. Thus, Intellectual, Physical, Character, and Social development are very important to develop their personalities and to evolve a complete man.

Admissions to Sri Ganesh College of Education Salem

ELIGIBILITY

A candidate shall be eligible for admission to the course leading to the Degree of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) provided:

(i) The candidates who had undergone 10+2+3 (15) or 11+1+3 (15) pattern of study and passed the X and XII examinations conducted by the respective State Board or CBSE or any other recognized Board of Education/Examination and UG Degree examination of the UGC approved Universities in any one of the school subjects offered by the Directorate of School Education at the Secondary/Higher Secondary Education level or its equivalent as it is decided by the Equivalence Committee appointed by Government of Tamilnadu from time to time.

(ii) Candidates who have passed the UG or PG degree in the Open University System without qualifying in 11 years SSLC examination and 1 year of Pre-University Course (PUC) examination or 10+2 pattern of school education examination shall not be considered for admission.

(iii) However, candidates not qualified in the XII examination or PUC but possessing Two Years Bachelor Preparatory Programme Certificates / Two Years Foundation Course Certificates/Two Years Diploma Courses conducted by State Government/recognized Universities and qualified with three years of UG Degree course are also considered to be eligible for admission.

(iv) Candidates who have studied more than one main subject in Part III (under Double/Triple Major System) of the UG Degree course should have to choose only one of the main subjects and should have applied for that Optional only. In such cases, marks obtained by the candidates in Two/Three major subjects shall be taken into account to arrive percentage of marks stipulated in item (viii).
