Sri Venkateswara Institute of Science and Technology [SVIST], Thiruvallur Tamil Nadu was established in the year 2002 as Private Educational Institute to provide higher education to build a career in the field of Engineering. Facilities and Infrastructure

The institute houses a central library consisting of more than 12,750 titles and 33,360 volumes on all disciplines taught at the institute, besides the periodicals and journals to cater to the insatiable knowledge thirst of the inquisitive students. The Central Library has been built to national standards. A separate digital e-library with about 930 online journals is available for the use of students' knowledge enrichment.

The College has provided the facility for indoor and outdoor games to its students. Students have the facility of playing chess, carom, Chinese checker, badminton, and table tennis. Similarly, the college is also providing a facility for some outdoor games like volleyball, kho-kho, football, cricket, etc.

The institute runs a canteen to serve the students with delicious breakfast and sumptuous mid-day meals. A variety of snacks & meals are provided with high-quality mineral water (RO-UV treated) in a hygienic atmosphere to ensure that every student in college gets a satisfying breakfast & lunch. The food items are cost-worthy. Though food is meant for meeting the body’s requirement of nutritious food for its proper physiological functioning through satisfying hunger, it has an additional inherent element called taste that pleases the tongue and the palate. run a fully functional canteen to serve hygienic food to the staff and students. A separate mess is also operative on the campus. A separate canteen for boys and Girls has been provided.

The college buses are run to suit their convenience and the institute’s college timings. The bus fees are comparatively fair and moderate. The Institute operates college buses for the benefit of the students residing in and around the city of Chennai to commute between the institute and their residence. College buses ply from the following places to the College.

Placements

Our college has an independent placement office devoted to cater the needs of the organization to provide placement, preparatory programs, winning skills, personality development, and CV preparation. It is headed by a Professor designated as Placement Officer. Placement hours have been allocated to the students for conducting placement-oriented activities. During this session, aptitude, interview tips, and group discussions are imparted to the students by placement coordinators.
