Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences was established in 2009. The university is a leading institute in health sciences and provides various courses in health science, including UG, PG, Ph.D., and research. The campus has separate hostels for Boys and Girls. Both have 24-hour electricity and water flow. The University does not charge students for their accommodations.

The university's library contains more than 1,20,000 books in print form. Students can access more than 500 journals in the library. The university has a central library and e-resources for its students. The library is fully computerized and allows students to search the library's online databases.
