SRR & CVR Govt. Degree College, Vijayawada was established in 1937.
The Institution owes its existence to two illustrious persons, Sri Rajah Venkatadri Apparao Bahadur, Zamindar of Nuzvid and Sri. Chunduri Venkata Reddy, local industrialist and philanthropist. The former started the university in 1937 as a private college in perpetual memory of his father, Sri Rangayya Appa Rao. Bahadur and the latter shared the responsibility of running the Institution as a committee College along with the founder Zamindar.
Recognised by University Grants Commission (UGC), National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), National Institutional Ranking Framework and ISO 9001: 2008.

Residential Accommodation
Separate boys and girls hostels with high security are available on the university campus. Boys and girls have two hostels with Wi-Fi services for UG and PG, which can accommodate about 150 students each with good infrastructure. A well-equipped gym is established so that the students of the inn develop the physical ability of boys and girls. A hygienic mess is attached to hostels.
The Library
The treasury of books and periodicals - is the centre of intellectual activity in any institution. The Central Library works for its readers with a concern for creativity and innovation, predecessors of Research and Development. It has a well-equipped library that accumulates over 10,000 volumes of selected books in various engineering, management, and basic and general science subjects.
Medical Services and Health Center
SRR & CVR Govt. Degree College, Vijayawada knows that physical health is more important for students to concentrate well on their studies. The College pays particular attention to the health of students. Our college has a health centre with all the facilities on the campus and also an experienced doctor who takes care of this health centre. The medical service vehicle is always ready on site 24 hours a day.
Canteen
It provides good quality fresh Snacks, cool drinks, coffee, tea, and other food items in a hygienic, healthy way which suits the pockets of the student. It is speckless and maintained very well.
Sport
Physical education is strongly aimed at improving the physical and mental health of the individual player. This results in the development of dynamic personalities. Sports activities and achievements have helped many people get better job opportunities. The clean area with the natural gift of fresh air is an inspiring resource, which motivates the player to perform better. Sports carry the same weight as academics. All sports activities are encouraged by making all facilities available when students participate in intercollegiate, intra-college, and other tournaments.
