About SRR & CVR Govt. Degree College, Vijayawada

The Institution owes its existence to two illustrious persons, Sri Rajah Venkatadri Apparao Bahadur, Zamindar of Nuzvid and Sri. Chunduri Venkata Reddy,  local industrialist and philanthropist. The former started the university in 1937 as a private college in perpetual memory of his father, Sri Rangayya Appa Rao. Bahadur and the latter shared the responsibility of running the Institution as a committee College along with the founder Zamindar.

Separate boys and girls hostels with high security are available on the university campus. Boys and girls have two hostels with Wi-Fi services for UG and PG, which can accommodate about 150 students each with good infrastructure. A well-equipped gym is established so that the students of the inn develop the physical ability of boys and girls. A hygienic mess is attached to hostels.
