St Aloysius College Elthuruth is an undergraduate college affiliated with the University of Calicut. The St. Louis journey began on June 1, 1968, with Elias Chavara's vision and mission of St. Kuriakose to "form intellectually competent, morally upright, socially engaged, and spiritually inspired people. Pr. Pr. Malachi, the first director, and Fr. Adolf, the first director, ran the institution with determination and dedication. Since the preparatory courses of 1968, St. Aloysius had its first expansion with the laying of the foundation stone by the late pastor Dr. Clemens, then Provincial and then Bishop of Sagar. It is led by the Fathers belonging to the Carmelite Congregation of Mary Immaculate (CMI), founded by St.Kuriakose Elias Chavara. 

The CMI Fellowship of Fathers and Brothers is active in various educational institutions and social centers throughout the country and abroad. St Aloysius College, Elthuruth is administered by St Mary's Monastery under the Devamatha Province Congregation. Other institutions on the same campus under the administration of the monastery are St.Aloysius L.P, UP, Lyceum, High School, St. Aloysius, Midshipmen's House of St. Berchmans e St.Church of Santa Maria. Today we have 16 UG courses and 8 GUT courses with the Department of English as a research center. The academic results of the UG and GUT courses are a real indicator of the high quality of the education offered by the college now, with a faculty of 85, a serving staff of 32, and up to 2,000 enrolled students, we continue our continuous journey.

A women's shelter with an area of ?? 743.2 m².meters stands a kilometer away from the main campus. It has adequate facilities and can accommodate about 80 students. The Hostel is run by the nuns of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Martha.
