SEC was founded in the year 2000 by the Sudharsan Educational Trust with the aim of disseminating knowledge in the fields of science, engineering, and technology in the rural district of Pudukkottai. The college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education and is affiliated to Anna University. SEC offers 6 Under-Graduate Programmes in the fields of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence and Data Sciences. Faculty: 

Many of the faculties were Master's degree holders. Their teaching capability was really good. Many faculties did teaching with practical examples. Their interaction with the students was high as they ask many questions while teaching to interact even more. Our Principal is a Ph.D. holder and did much research in the Electrical field.

Placement: 

Placement of college is not that much, but according to the capabilities of the students they arrange for an interview to get a minimum of jobs, based interview expected is not much better compared to other engineering colleges.
