Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) is the state agricultural university of Tamil Nadu located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India.
Tamil Nadu Agricultural University is located in Coimbatore situated in Tamil Nadu. It is designed to educate students in research and higher education in the field of agriculture. This university operates in accordance of its Directorate of education of Tamil Nadu.
The origins of this University stem from the establishment of an agricultural college situated in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. This was during the first the year 1868. It was relocated to Coimbatore after 1906.in the 1920s, it was able to have affiliations with Madras University. It was the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University undertook all of the duties associated with Agricultural Education and Research. It also helped the department of agriculture of the state, by producing numerous products for research and development. It was in 1958 that the university gained recognition as a place for post-graduation. It also began to offer masters and doctoral diplomas to the students.

Outlook placed the University at #45 in the year 2019. The TNAU was founded as an Agricultural College in Saidapet near Chennai in 1876. It then grew as a college in Coimbatore in 1906.

For B.Tech and B.Sc. admissions, candidates must be able to pass exams in 10+2 in the relevant subject areas with 55% of the marks.
Diploma admissions are based upon scores from the 10+2 exam.
To be admitted to M.Tech, M.Sc. and MBA programs, a Bachelor's qualification in TNAU accredited universities are required. In addition, scores for the entrance exam.
