Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University offers a boys' hostel facility that provides quality accommodation for students. The FC & RI hostel has accommodated 158 students, including 84 boys from undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The hostel is overseen by one Warden and two Deputy Wardens, including a female deputy warden. A Reverse Osmosis (R.O.) plant with a capacity of 500 lb. per hour has been installed in the boys' hostel to ensure access to safe drinking water.
Similarly, the university provides a girls' hostel facility with excellent accommodation for students. The hostel is managed by one Warden and two Deputy Wardens, including a female deputy warden. A Reverse Osmosis (R.O.) plant with a capacity of 500 lb. per hour is also available in the girls' hostel for drinking water needs.
Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University features a well-equipped library accessible to all students, recognized as one of the premier libraries for fisheries science in the country. Spanning 515 sq. meters, the library houses 17,371 books, 3,791 back volumes, and 2,370 free publications, and subscribes to 50 journals in both print and online formats. Additionally, over 1,700 online journals in Agricultural Sciences are accessible through Cera. The library provides various services such as book lending, referencing, internet browsing, reprographic services, and a student guidance cell for competitive examinations. Operating from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm for 12 hours daily, the library also offers modern documentation services like CD-ROM services, online database searches, and internet access.
The university boasts sports facilities for all students, forming Tamil Nadu Fisheries University teams in Kabaddi (men), Volleyball (men), and Athletics (men and women) through selection trials. These teams participated in the 15th All India Inter Agricultural University Sports and Games Meet 2014 at Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, Assam. Notably, the TNFU Kabaddi Men's Team performed exceptionally well, followed by the TNFU Volleyball (men) and Athletics (men and women) teams.
