Thapar School of Liberal Arts and Sciences (TSLAS) is set up to create a stimulating and inspiring academic environment. We encourage young scholars to explore their true potential and unravel their creativity to tackle issues of global importance. We nurture students to critically understand complex issues from multiple perspectives by providing them with opportunities to cross disciplinary boundaries. Our Foundation courses and course requirements from outside the ‘Major’ discipline of the student are designed to achieve that along with providing students with in-depth disciplinary knowledge in their chosen area of ‘Major’ field. The school provides a thriving and open research environment where any idea can be explored.

TSLAS provides foundation courses to first-year students. Irrespective of the course a candidate chooses they have to take up the foundation course which is of one year.

Scholarships

TSLAS provides scholarships to deserving candidates on the basis of merit. The scholarships are in form of tuition fee waivers. The scholarships are as follows:

Students receiving 98% and above in their pre-university qualifying exam can receive an 80% tuition fee waiver.

Students receiving 95% and above in their pre-university qualifying exam will receive a 60% tuition fee waiver.

Students receiving 92% and above in their pre-university qualifying exam will receive a 40% tuition fee waiver.

Students receiving 90% and above in their pre-university qualifying exam will receive a 30% tuition fee waiver

College Board India Scholars Programme in partnership with TSLAS

As a part of the India Scholarship program, students can get up to 100% scholarship for the entire duration of their study at TSLAS if they score 1300 or above on the SAT.

They will be recognized as Top Performers by the college board at the end of April on an annual basis. Top performers who demonstrate significant need, defined by family income less than INR 8 LPA are eligible to apply for full-tuition scholarships for the entire duration of their program of study at TSLAS.

Admission

Admission to TSLAS is done through online mode. Candidates are selected on the basis of an online test followed by a Personal Interview round.

placement

PlacementAsian Educational Institute has set up a comprehensive Training & Placement Cell and has a proven record of Industrial liaising and achievement in students' placement. This Cell's mission is to enhance students' employability and help them secure a suitable career. In coordination with different faculties of neighboring Institutions, this Cell conducts campus placements and invites reputed companies to the campus to conduct interviews and find suitable jobs for the skills available among the students.

During the academic session 2016-17, 22 students were placed in various Indian companies and MNCs including Punjab Police. The package varied from 1.20 lac per annum- 3.00 lac per annum. The highest package offered to the student is INR 10 LPA and the average package offered is INR 3 LPA.
