Erode College of Pharmacy and Research Institute was established in the year 1992 under the Patronage of Erode Educational Trust. The college has now successfully crossed 30 years of existence and is committed to excellence in Pharmacy Education. It is located at Veppampalayam, about 8 km west of Erode Bus Stand & from Erode Railway Junction. The College is recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu, affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Chennai, Approved by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The College offers D.Pharm, B.Pharm, M.Pharm, Pharm.D, Pharm.D[PB] & Ph.D courses.

The Institute has highly qualified, experienced teaching faculties; amongst them, 15 had completed Ph.D. and 5 are pursuing their Doctorate to impart sound knowledge to the students by using innovative teaching techniques. Facilities and Infrastructure at Erode College of Pharmacy and Research Institute

The college campus has seven spacious, well-designed and properly furnished separate hostels for boys and girls; including different ones for under graduate and post graduate students. Each hostel room is well furnished with double bed, study table, wardrobes and has an attached bath and toilet, with 24 hours hot water supply. Each hostel has separate common rooms with color televisions with DTH and facilities for indoor games where students can relax after exhaustive hours of study.

Our library has a floor area of around 2,750 square feet and is located on the college's first floor. Our library offers a wide range of books, journals, research works, thesis, back issues, and other materials from various divisions in pharmacy to support discovery and learning and meet the academic needs of students and faculty members. The bookkeeping operations of the central library are fully automated with KOHA library management software with barcode applications.

The Auditorium with state of the art multimedia system. It is frequently used for presentations, seminars, fests, events of the college. The college auditorium has a fixed stage and can accommodate thousands of audience comfortably.

This area is now part of the new Garden of Medicinal Plants. The Pharmaceutical Garden is a display of plants that yield therapeutic compounds of proven value in current medicinal practice and are in worldwide use today. The beds are arranged according to the use of the drug derived from the plants. The collection includes plants such as Catharanthus roseus (Madagascar Periwinkle), which contains alkaloids used in anti-cancer drugs. Digitalis lanata (Woolly Foxglove) contains a cardiac glycoside (digoxin) that is extracted directly from the leaves and is used to control and prevent abnormal heart rhythms and strengthen the heartbeat. Filipendulaulmaria (Meadowsweet) is the plant from which salicylic acid was first made in 1835, leading to the introduction of aspirin in 1899. Hordeumvulgare (Barley) led to the synthesis of lignocain,e which is universally used as a local anaesthetic.

College laboratories are completely independent and free to investigate anything that interests them. In practice, many of them are anxious to keep in touch with industry and focus their research efforts on problems with practical application.

The College has its own computer lab for pharmacy students located on the second floor of Lloyd M.Phark Hall. The lab houses 30 computers with internet, wifi and is open to students during normal business hours. A variety of software is available, including statistical analysis, technical graphing and molecular modeling programs.

The Erode College of Pharmacy contains six classrooms, with the largest accommodating 100 students. It is equipped with retractable screens and audiovisual equipment like slide and Film Projectors, OHP, Video Projector, LCD and Cameras.

The Erode College of Pharmacy belives that a healthy mind works better than sports help to inculcate good qualities in the students. Involving oneself in competitive sports encourages healthy competition, cooperation and leadership qualities. Apart from sports activities, the college has plans for an annual visit to the industries in the nearby area. This helps in bridging the gap between industry and college. Also, we encourage and appreciate students to participate in our annual festival.

The placement cell of the Erode College of Pharmacy collaborates with several pharma industries and hospitals to provide opportunities to the students of pharmacy for employment and has facilitated promising candidates in the field of health care and the pharmaceutical industry.

The placement cell comprises of Dr. R. Sambathkumar, Mr. P. Royal Frank, Dr. C. Kannan, Mrs. G. Suba Geetha, Mr. R. Gowthaman, Mr. K.S. Dinesh, Ms. A. Kokilavani, Mr.A.Yogaraj and Mr. S. Paul Dhilip whom collate the student's data who are interested in placement for their career development. Almost 100% placement assistance is given to those candidates who are interested to pursue their career in the pharmaceutical industry, hospital and academia. All the final year students of D.Pharmacy, B.Pharmacy, Pharm.D and M.Pharmacy programs enroll in the placement activities.

About 88% of the candidates are employed in the leading pharma industries, hospitals and academia across the country opting for production, research and development, pharmacovigilance, pharmaceutical marketing, clinical pharmacy, community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy and teaching. About 12% of the students have opted for higher studies in the past year.
