The National College is one of seventeen institutions of the National Education Society of Karnataka, established in 1917 With the aim of inculcating ideals. The college was established in 1945 to commemorate the silver jubilee of the state secondary school. Since its creation. The college has grown enormously and has become synonymous with "value-based higher education". A symbol of the full value of the National Society of Education, founded by forward-thinking men with a rare commitment to nation-building, the National College has made tremendous contributions to the general development of society over its six decades of existence. The college can boast of having produced not only eminent professionals but competent administrators and men of science of impeccable morals. Facilities and Infrastructure: 

Founded in 1945, Basavanagudi National College still retains its old-world charm. The building and atmosphere continue to exude the academic appeal created by the Institute's founder and mentor, Dr. H. Narasimhiah. Experience the various facilities available to students and teachers. 

Canteen: 

Many of our students are from the Mofussil areas of Bangalore. They leave the house at 6 a.m. to be on time for class, which starts at 8:30 a.m. Therefore, the canteen on the university campus is open from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.It serves simple but hygienic and nutritious food. Many of our teachers use the canteen to check the quality of the meals served. 

Library: 

College Library was founded in 1945 along with the College under the direction of the officials and librarians of the Karnataka National Education Society. The library has made great strides. Today it is an excellent library with a separate three-story building and a spacious reading area. The library has approximately 78,353 volumes and 42,315 titles from courses. Last year the book collection grew by 940 volumes. The library subscribes to 39 journals and 11 periodicals. The library operates a free access system for students and employees. It has a library with books for economically disadvantaged students. 

The library is fully barcoded and has 16 computers with servers. The OPAC facility also provided facilities for faculty and students to search for books for staff and students. Wi-Fi facilities provide Internet connectivity for all computers, and an electronic library of 618 CDs, including both general knowledge CDs and current affairs CDs, is available to students and staff. A copy is available for students and employees. The library receives general and special grants from UGC and grants from the college administration.

Hostel:

The Casa dei Ragazzi Poveri, as our university academy was once called, was founded in 1930. The house was in some rooms behind the public high school. Teacher. Gopalaswamy Iyengar took full responsibility for running the hostel, visionary and educator Dr. H. Narasimhaiah settled into a boarding school and successfully completed his early education. He then achieved great success both in science and in administration. He was Dean of the College before becoming President of the prestigious Bangalore University. 

Sports: 

National College sponsors sports and related activities. In addition, the college sports department works to identify and develop the potential of students and to provide them with appropriate training and opportunities to develop their skills. He has always provided many opportunities for students to participate in sports and games that are physically, mentally, and socially demanding. Character is formed through games and sports, and through these activities qualities such as leadership, discipline, dedication, and integrity are developed.
