The inception of Tinsukia College in the year 1956 was the result of the strenuous efforts of Late B. K. Saraswatji who mobilized all required resources with the help of likeminded citizens of Tinsukia, a part of the then Lakhimpur District to give rise to this great institution. Without their support and patronage, the college would never have come into being.

Accreditation and Ranking

Tinsukia College is affiliated with Dibrugarh University. The college is approved by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Courses Available

Central Library 

The college has a central library with about 50,000 books including rare publications. Apart from reference materials, there are a good number of newspapers and magazines from various fields of art, business, science, general knowledge etc.

Girls Hostel Facility 

The campus has a  hostel for girls in connection with the campus. It is a well-furnished guest house with all basic amenities. The capacity of the hostel is 124 and vacancies are released when old students get accommodation. Students are allocated study places according to  their achievements and distance from their place of residence. The main objective of the hostel is to serve the needs of girls who come from remote and also remote areas in Tinsukia district and neighboring states of Arunachal Pradesh. 

Central  Laboratory of Information Technology 

There is a modern central IT laboratory equipped with modern computers  with LAN and Wi-Fi internet connection. 

Auditorium hall 

The college has an auditorium hall where the audience can listen and watch the performances in places like annual functions, college programs etc. 

Canteen  

The college has a well-conditioned and fully equipped vegetarian and non-vegetarian canteen which provides hygienic  and tasty food to the students and teachers at an affordable price. 

Fitness Centre

As part of  fitness  and light toning of the whole body, there is a multi-station gym with a treadmill, Orbitruk, wrist band, bicycle aerometer, vibration, crossover machine, etc.
