The University College of Engineering (UCE) has the distinction of being the oldest and largest of the engineering colleges in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Established in  1929, eleven years after the formation of Osmania University, it was the 6th College of Engineering to be founded in the whole of British India. The College moved to the current permanent building in  1947.

Residential Accommodation

University College of Engineering (A), OR, has four (04) hostels, namely Kinnera Hostel (ECHI), New Kinnera Hostel, Ganga Hostel, and Swarnamukhi Hostel (ECHII).BE first year & final year students and all the Three years MCA students are accommodated in Kinnera Hostel (ECH-I) and New Kinnera Hostel, whereas BE Second & Third-year students are placed at Ganga Hostel.  Hostels & Messes are under the overall supervision of the Principal. Who is assisted by an additional manager, an assistant manager, and a team of managers (inns and mess). Each Hostel is directly under the control of the Manager (Hostel & Mess) who is the faculty member of the University. The office of the additional foreman is located in the main college building, Room No.143.

Library

The Library has facilities like lending services (Books Issue & Returns), Inter-Library Loan, Web/intranet-based information services, and Wi-fi Services. The library also has a book bank for SC/ST students. An additional area of ??400 m² was added to the reading room in  June 2016. The library purchases and stores books for the six branches of engineering. Online journals are available for various specializations of PG programs. In addition, literature is also available to meet the needs of students for the various competitions.

Medical Services and Health Center

The University has a Health Center located near the College of Arts which caters to the needs of Osmania University students and staff. It is open from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. every working day. Working hours on public holidays and the second Saturday are only from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. It is closed on Sundays.

Student Activity Center

The University College of Engineering has created a model structure in the name of the Student Activities Center in the premises of the College adjacent to the Sports Complex. This is a type of structure normally provided in IITs.Indoor games such as carrom, chess, etc., are offered as a recreational activity for students to relax in their free time and offer sports magazines.

Canteen

The College Canteen caters to the needs of students and staff and is open from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm on all working days.
