University Evening College, one of the four constituent colleges of University of Mysore, completed 50 years in July 2015. It is significant that the Golden Jubilee of the College coincided with the Centenary of the University of Mysore. The college which started with just a few students in 1965, now has nearly a thousand students on the rolls. The University Evening College was established with a vision to extend the yeomen service of Graduate Education to those who have not been able to pursue their higher studies due to compelled circumstances to earn their livelihood during day time Fifty-Five years ago, the college set out specific goals of imparting education to all, disseminating knowledge and promotion of skills.

University Evening College courses are offered at various levels like Undergraduate Degrees i.e BBM (Marketing Management), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.), etc., Postgraduate Degrees i.e Master of Arts (MA), and many more. The college accepts all admissions on the basis of merit in the last qualifying examination.
Meritorious and meriting students will avail of scholarships from State and Central Governments. Subject scholarships, endowment scholarships, Minority scholarships, Sports scholarships, and Single lady kid Scholarships are available. In addition, special scholarships for youngsters of political sufferers, defense personnel, scholarships for physically challenged individuals are available. Students' happiness to economically weaker sections of society has a good thing about free studentship.
Many Principals in the last four decades have shouldered the responsibility towards this endeavor of the institution and contributed their might in serving the needy to fulfill their respective educational motto. With limited availability of resources, the institution shows its commitment to the students in pursuing their education in the field of Arts, Commerce, and Management faculties.
