University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Panjab University is a premier institute of pharmaceutical education and research assigned NIRF Rank 2 in the country. The institute set up in pre-independent India, at Lahore, in 1944 has a prestigious and long history. The institute hosted Pharmaceutical Sciences Oration by a Nobel Laureate, Prof. Ben Feringa, and other mega events including global alumni meeting to commemorate its Platinum Jubilee Year in 2019. Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) approved B. Pharmacy (4-year) program and M. Pharmacy courses in 6 disciplines: Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Analysis, and Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance are offered at UIPS. The doctoral (Ph.D.) degree is offered in all emerging areas of pharmaceutical sciences. Currently, 227 B. Pharm., 140 M. Pharm., and> 50 Ph.D. are registered at UIPS. Course offered:

The College offers M.Pharm Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance, Pharmacognosy, and Pharmacology.

Infrastructure and facilities :

The organization is completely furnished with advanced facilities and instruments which are further reinforced by the super-exceptional modern instruments in the connecting divisions on the yard. They include transmission and scanning electron microscopes, ultracentrifuge, Microdialyses, Freeze-dryer, IR, HPTLC, NMR, CHN analyzers, Sonicators, X-Ray diffraction, and Microcalorimeters.The institution has an infrastructure with modern techniques that includes labs with the latest equipment, a central library, transport and hostel facilities, internet, and banking facilities - giving comfort to the students seeking education in this academy.

Hostel and Mess Facilities on Panjab University Campus:

There are seventeen Residence Halls for students on the campus, 8 for boys, 9 for girls, and a Working Women's Hostel. There are Wardens/Hostel Staff on duty round the clock to tend to the needs and living comfort of students. Each hostel has a dining hall and canteen, several deserts and water coolers, and a visitors' lounge to entertain family or friends. There is also an outdoor court for badminton, volleyball etc. provided for the recreation and fitness of the students. Students are served fresh, healthy food daily at subsidized rates in the mess. The Common Room is fairly well equipped with current magazines and newspapers. There is provision for indoor games, LCD TV and music system. Internet connectivity has been provided in each hostel for anyone to access. The hostels are aesthetically laid out with plenty of open space and a lot of greenery. Each wing of the hostel has several verandahs and balconies. The rooms are comfortable and fitted with fans, lights, and hard furniture. Talent shows, dramatics, and literary events are organized from time to time, where hostel inmates are given maximum encouragement to participate.

Scholarships Schemes provided by the University Institute of Pharmaceutical Science:

Merit and Merit-Cum-Means Scholarships in Diploma Courses, There shall be two scholarships in the following Diploma Courses, one of merit and the other of Merit-cum-Means each of the value of Rs. 200/- p.m.

OC & MIL Scholarships

These scholarships shall be awarded to the students securing the first positions in the Oriental Classical and Modern Indian Languages examinations at the rates shown against each, provided that the conditions laid down in these statutes are fulfilled by the candidates.

Post-Graduate Scholarship (Master's Degree Course)

There shall be two scholarships for each class as follows: Merit scholarship @ Rs. 200/- p.m., Merit-cum-means scholarship @ Rs. 200/- p.m
