The University Institute of Technology, Burdwan, was founded in 1999 and has received approval from the Government of West Bengal and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). UIT Burdwan is financially supported by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and the state government. The institution provides opportunities for students to enroll in undergraduate and postgraduate programs across a range of disciplines.

University Institute of Technology offers a variety of degrees Like Bachelor of Arts (BA) Education,  Bachelor of Engineering [BE] {lateral}, B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering, B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering [BE] {lateral}, B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering, B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering, B.E. in Civil Engineering, B.E. in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, B.E. in Information Technology, etc. Post Graduate Degrees like M.E. in Computer Science and Engineering, M.E. in Electronics and Instrumentation, Master of Engineering etc. In addition, it provides a quick overview of individual courses and a useful source of information on the current use of the university in many disciplines and their specializations. 

Facilities and infrastructure

Hostel:

A safe hostel for girls: UIT Burdwan has a separate hostel for women called "Madame Curie Hostel". The UIT Burdwan Girls Shelter is available for a small fee. The hostel no longer has extravagant rooms, cable TV, internet access, etc. UIT Burdwan has four boys' hostels including Banabas Hostel, Banabas Hostel (New) Professor Satyendra Nath Bose Boys' Hostel and '201 Sitting (New) Boys. cable, indoor video games and internet access. Four inns no longer have unusual rooms. The rent for UIT Burdwan Hostel is INR 600 per month. 

Library 

The institute library has more than 30,000 volumes of textbooks with 4,000 titles. The library is computerized. The library receives 20 national journals and 30 world journals. The library has a study room. The library subscribes to online virtual libraries from educational associations such as IEEE, IEE and ACM. 

Laboratories: 

There are different types of labs in a cybersecurity research and education institution such as B. civilian computer labs, computer labs, biotechnology labs, etc.

Auditorium:

The College has a very spacious and well-equipped auditorium with a capacity of more than 2,500 seats, where the College organizes various types of programs such as guest lectures, cultural events and debates, etc. 

Medical Facilities: 

ITU Burdwan has a University Health Center that provides 24-hour university services to students. In addition, well-trained doctors are available 24 hours a day at Burdwan Medical College & Hospital. UTI students can benefit from this. Students can use the clinic centres with a regular subscription. 

Sports facilities: 

Sports facilities are available on campus. The annual sporting event takes place in December every year.

Cafe/Mess Facility:

The college has a Canteen on the campus. (For the benefit of the students and staff) Where students and other Faculty have Their Food and Enjoy Their Free Time.

Admission is based on an entrance exam conducted by the University.
