It is with this motto that Maharani College embarked on its journey of providing opportunities for higher education to girls. The University Maharani College stands apart as the epitome of the foresightedness of its founders, and the hard work of its staff and has paved the way for women’s education in the feudal state of Rajasthan. The college has grown leaps and bounds ever since its inception. Established on 1st August 1944 with only 11 girls and 3 teachers in Madho Vilas under the patronage of the royal family, especially Maharani Gayatri Devi, and called Intermediate College for Women, it has witnessed a meteoric rise and reached its present strength of more than 8000 students. Today it is Asia’s largest multi-faculty college.
It was with this ethos it was with this motto that Maharani College embarked on its journey to provide opportunities to higher education for girls. It is the University Maharani College that stands apart as the perfect example of the visionary nature of its founders and the dedication of its staff members and has opened the door to women's education within the state of feudalism in Rajasthan. The school has grown leaps and bounds since its beginning. The college was founded on the 1st of August 1944, it was a small college with just three teachers and 11 girls located in Madho Vilas under the patronage of the royal family, particularly Maharani Gayatri Devi, and later renamed Intermediate College for Women, it has experienced a dramatic increase and has now reached its current capacity of over 8000 students. It is now Asia's biggest multi-faculty institution.
